Wild

By Kendall Milton

Sitting by the Cornish sea

I hear the mermaid’s call

Her voice is bringing me back to me

There’s nothing to worry about at all

Out of place, and yet I’m right at home

Cuz home is a way you feel

A wobbling cliche, on this country road

The American girl in high heels

Set out on a voyage to find my true self

So I gave a cabby a tenner

Hoped to find my soul sitting, Elf on a Shelf

On a seacliff in, idk, Zennor?

Or by the old man’s lantern light

Telling me spooky ghost stories

On cobblestone streets

In the dead of night

Twisted tales, eerie and gory

But deep within me haunts me most

It calls to me, like a child

Floating around me like a ghost

To remind me I’ll always be wild
